Aliyah Flight: Options & Schedule

Booking your Aliyah flight marks an exciting and momentous milestone in your Aliyah journey, and we are delighted to assist you in making the necessary arrangements. Once you have received approval for your Aliyah flight benefit, the Nefesh B’Nefesh Flights Department will send you an email invitation to book your flight. Simply choose your departure hub from the list below, click on the dropdown menu, and note your preferred date from the posted flight schedule, and reply to the invitation with your preference. Your journey is about to take flight, and we can’t wait to welcome you home!

Please note: If you have not received an invitation to book your flight, your application may be missing required components. Please consult with your Nefesh B’Nefesh Aliyah advisor for assistance. To ensure timely processing, request your Aliyah flight at least three weeks in advance and pay the ticket processing fee, along with any outstanding Aliyah application fees.

• Departure Cities: New York, Newark, Miami, Los Angeles.
• 5-40 Olim on the flight (commercial EL AL flight).
• Nefesh B’Nefesh staff are not present at the departure or arrival of the flight.
• Olim are greeted by Nefesh B’Nefesh staff or volunteers upon arrival at Ben Gurion.
• During the months of July and August, Nefesh B’Nefesh staff will be present at select departures from Newark and JFK to provide a celebratory send-off for Olim.

• Departure Cities: New York, Newark, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, Toronto.

Flexible Flight requests are made as needed when there is no flight available on our schedule during the preferred time you would like to fly.

Please note:

• Flight reservations are subject to availability at the time of booking, requiring a three-week lead time.
• If a Cluster or Group flight is scheduled from your desired departure hub within 10 days before or after your preferred flight date, you are required to take the available flight on our schedule.
• EWR and JFK are interchangeable. For example, if a flight departs from EWR ( Newark, NJ), but you reside closer to JFK (New York, NY)  you must opt for the EWR departure if a flight is available during your preferred week of travel.
• Flights from Toronto and Montreal will be booked on Air Canada.

Upon arrival, a Temporary Teudat Zehut (Israeli ID Card) will be issued, including a Sefach (addendum) with your Israeli address and immediate family’s ID numbers. This temporary ID is valid for three months and must be replaced with a biometric Teudat Zehut, available at any Misrad Hapnim by appointment, free of charge.

Please note: Olim who already have a Teudat Zehut number prior to making Aliyah (Ezrachim Olim, Ktinim Chozrim, and former or current A-1 visa holders) will not receive their Teudat Zehut card at the airport upon arrival. Prior to your Aliyah flight, your Aliyah Advisor will provide instructions on how to obtain your Teudat Zehut card directly from the Population & Immigration Authority after your arrival in Israel.

• Your reservation includes two (2) bags, each weighing up to 50lbs and measuring 62” in height, length, and width, in addition to a personal item and carry-on bag.
• In addition to the two (2) pieces of luggage included in the Aliyah benefit, Olim are entitled to bring up to three (3) additional bags per passenger.
• Olim can pre-purchase a third, fourth, and fifth suitcase through EL AL’s Manage My Booking webpage. When purchased online at least 4 hours before departure, the fee is $100 for the third suitcase and $185 each for the fourth and fifth suitcases. Otherwise, the third, fourth, and fifth suitcases cost $200 each and can be purchased at check-in. Please note that you will need your ticket information to pre-purchase luggage.
• Each passenger is limited to a maximum of five (5) suitcases.
• Additional luggage, oversized, or overweight fees are the sole responsibility of the Oleh.
• The airline-generated ticket you will receive from EL AL has generic flight information indicating that one (1) piece of luggage is allowed. Do not be concerned, as your Aliyah benefit of the second (2^nd) piece of luggage is confirmed by Nefesh B’Nefesh with the airline.

DISCLAIMER: Aliyah flights must be arranged via Nefesh B’Nefesh in order to utilize the Aliyah Flight Benefit. Once you submit your flight preferences and have the necessary approvals and documentation, we will assist you with booking your Aliyah flight. We will do our best to accommodate your first flight preference; however, we cannot guarantee that all Olim will receive their first choice. Nefesh B’Nefesh reserves the right to withdraw any of these flight options at any time. Should that occur, NBN will assist you in making alternate flight arrangements. Depending on the time of year in which you make Aliyah, not all of the options noted above may be available. If you cancel your reservation or change your flight, you may incur fees.
