In cooperation with the various Israeli Sherut Leumi organizations, Ori was created to provide a community and support system for the young women who have decided to commit to a year of national service in Israel.

  1. Olah Chadasha

    • You’ll need army exemption (Ptor) to start Sherut. This can be obtained only after making Aliyah. See: Army Ptor
    • Your medical coverage is provided by the Israeli national healthcare
    • An Israeli bank account is needed, to submit to your Rakezet prior to starting Sherut
  1. Volunteer B4 visa (only for those over 18 years old, without Israeli citizenship)

    • No Ptor is needed
    • Private health coverage is required
    • You must provide proof of private health insurance in Israel
    • Official documents needed to prove your Zakaut Aliyah (Aliyah eligibility). Click here for more information
    • Your volunteer visa is valid for 12 months and must be acquired immediately preceding the start of your Sherut
    • An Israeli bank account is needed, which you will need to provide to your Rakezet prior to starting your Sherut
  2. Israeli citizen who has not made Aliyah (for example, you have an Israeli parent)

    • You’ll need an army exemption (Ptor) to start Sherut. This can be obtained only after you arrive in Israel. This is the same procedure as an Olah Chadasha. See: Army Ptor
    • You must provide proof of personal health insurance in Israel
    • An Israeli bank account is needed, which you will need to provide to your Rakezet prior to starting your Sherut
