#LiveLoveIsrael Day in the Life: Kelli Brown
Kelli Brown made Aliyah from Pennsylvania in 2007 with her husband, Jeremy. It was their second time in Israel – after Taglit in 2003, the couple decided they would eventually make their home in Israel.
Since their move, the couple has become a family with four children – Abby, Asher, Josh and Miriam – and are enjoying being homeowners for the first time in Elazar, in Gush Etzion. Kelli leads a small digital marketing company – Pixel/Point Press – and her husband is a technical writer at HP Software. In her free time, she’s starting a bakery – Almond Bakery Café.
5:40 – Wake up, grab coffee and review work emails. I have 20 minutes to chat with my husband before he leaves for work and I get the kids up and ready.
8:00 – With the big three off to school, it’s me and Miri for the day. With Israel’s family friendly atmosphere, I’ve been able to keep my toddler at home while running a successful company.
14:00 – Walk to pick up the kids from school. Our boys are in classes right next to each other, and our daughter’s bus drops her off just a couple blocks from our home. Having great schools nearby means less time spent in the minivan!
16:00 – Daddy’s home! Flexible work hours means he’s home with us every night, and rarely misses dinner. Our big two are off to English classes while our little two play together in the yard with whichever neighbors happen to drop by.
19:00 – Devote a bit of time to my next project – starting a small bakery here in Elazar. Custom cake orders fill up my nights – tonight’s work is a bonfire birthday cake for a neighbor celebrating a Lag B’Omer birthday! So many holidays we didn’t really celebrate in the States!
