The holiday of freedom is here! Pesach is our favorite holiday (ok, they are all kind of our favorite) to spend in Israel. The entire country gets ready for the chag together- you are greeted with cleaning supplies at the grocery store, everyone is preparing for a week of unadulterated time with family, outdoors, and eating good food. We’ve found some of the best things to do with your family and friends this holiday, without needing to brave the traffic and leave the south.

The Alpaca Farm near Mitzpeh Ramon annually shears their alpacas and you’re invited to come join the fun. Your whole family can enjoy the time outdoors, watch the alpacas be sheared, learn about what can be done and what the wool is used for, and ride an alpaca. Fun fact: this is the only place outside of South Africa where alpacas can be found in herds!

Tuti Gil is a family run, organic strawberry field. Their strawberries are grown above ground and therefore are totally clean when you pick them. Instead of fertilizer they use spiders to scare away any destructive bacteria or animals that could ruin their crop. These strawberries are among the most beautiful and delicious we’ve seen and picking them is a blast.

You may have heard about Kibbutz Talmei Yosef because of their other great tourist hit, The Salad Trail, but this season we are here to tell you that is not all there is to see there! The Cactus Farm will teach you so many fascinating things about these plants that are all the rage these days. Go on a guided tour through the different cactuses, learn each one’s healing properties, fascinating history, not to mention stunning desert views. Learn why Aloe makes your skin feel better, and how Agave can be also a diet friendly sweetener but also make ropes strong enough to hold tents together.

Wherever you choose to go, we hope you enjoy the fresh feeling weather, time with people you love, in a place we are all so lucky to call home.

How can we help your Aliyah?
