Intro
Misgav is a region comprised of many small communities. The 35 villages of Misgav spread out over an area of 50,000 acres with a total population of 21,000 residents, including 5,500 Bedouins. Within those communities are 29 Jewish yishuvim (villages), each of which may be as small as 50 families or as large as 300. Residents of Misgav generally enjoy a high quality of life, rich in the communal experience.

In this first year of Go North, Olim are concentrating on the following communities: Moreshet, Eshchar, Shorashim and Tal El.

Local Employment
Misgav itself is home to two office parks: Bar Lev and Misgav, and other commercial centers in Kraiyot, Tefen and Nahariya are easily accessible within a 20 kilometer radius. Additionally, the region is only a 40 minute drive to Haifa and Yokneam. Misgav has both a MATI office as well as an employment resource counselor to help residents seeking local positions. Many places of employment provide 'hassa'ah' services, which transport employees to and from work . Additionally, the region is only a 40 minute drive to employment opportunities in Haifa and Yokneam, as well as in other areas.

Education / Youth
Misgav's educational system is well regarded, and has been recognized for excellence. Most of the yishuvim have their own maonim and ganim for small children, which are maintained by the Misgav regional council. Within the region, there are eight elementary school options, including: a Dati/Torani school in Moreshet, Misgav, Har Gilon, Har Schenya, the Golden School in Maale Tzviya, Galil- the Du-lishoni pluralistic school focusing on Hebrew and Arabic, Kishorit- a school for children with special needs, and finally a school based on the Anthroposophy Waldorf method. There is one Mamlachti middle/high school in Misgav.

Transportation
With a truly suburban lifestyle, residents are most often dependent on a private vehicle for transportation. For many families, one car is sufficient, with many place of employment offering "hassa'ah" services, and Misgav busses being provided for children traveling to school and regional chugim.

Amenities / Services
Kupot Holim (health-care providers) are available for Misgav residents, and are housed on the site of the Misgav regional offices.

Community and Religious Life
Misgav communities must approve new residents, and it is important to note that all Olim wishing to move to any of the Misgav communities would be subject to a Keinan Sheffy Institute exam and a personal interview before acceptance.

Misgav is home to a mixed religious/secular population.
