Application information for biometric documentation
As of June 1, 2017, it will be mandatory for all new documents issued to be biometric.
*Any valid documents will still be accepted and do not need to be changed.
PLEASE NOTE: Misrad Hapnim at Ben Gurion will not issue a first biometric Teudat Zehut for Olim upon arrival. The paper Teudat Zehut issued for new Olim at Ben Gurion Airport is temporary and only valid for three months.

Biometric ID Card (Teudat Zehut)
Israeli citizens, 16 years of age or older, who are applying for a first Teudat Zehut or who hold a paper Teudat Zehut and would like to replace it, must register to get an appointment to get their biometric ID card.
Olim must email their local office with their full names, Teudat Zehut number and phone number) and a representative will call back to schedule an appointment.
Please note: Misrad Hapnim in Ben Gurion airport will not issue a first biometric Teudat Zehut for Olim upon arrival.
Biometric Passport/Travel Document (Teudat Ma’avar)
One can fill out the application form and pay for their biometric passport or Teudat Ma’avar online here. After completing the application and confirmation payment, print the forms and bring them with you to Misrad Hapnim.
One can download and complete the application found here. Bring the completed form with you to the Misrad Hapnim, where you will apply for the passport/Teudat Ma’avar and pay the fee.

Soldiers are entitled to a 50% discount on their biometric travel document.
First document refers to a first biometric passport or Teudat Ma’avar or a biometric passport or Teudat Ma’avar replacing an expired or full one.
**Replacement document refers to a biometric passport or Teudat Ma’avar replacing a stolen/lost/ruined document.
