Elkana has an active English-speaking community in Elkana. Most of our residents can speak English and are always ready to be of assistance. There is a longstanding weekly Tanach shiur in English, a number tiyulim for English speakers during the year. Most importantly, the English speakers are highly involved in everything happening within the general Elkana community.
Elkana has an active community volunteer support network, and a range of opportunities for community involvement that reaches all sectors of the Elkana population. Programs focused on the youth such as “Adoptive Families” and the “Garin Ariel” club for Young Mothers and Newly Married Couples, providing support for these different populations. Many Chesed activities supporting neighbors in difficult times and offering assistance to families with special needs and a non-profit secondhand shop with proceeds going to Tzedaka help define a very active community life.
The Elkana community recognizes Klitat Aliyah as an important mission with a large group of people dedicated to that purpose. The “Elkana Ba’aliya” initiative will accompany Olim through the process of Aliyah and ensure that Olim feel comfortable and warmly welcomed into the community.
