In order to board the plane and process your Aliyah, there are a number of documents you need to have with you. It is imperative that you bring the following documents with you in your hand luggage to present at the airport (departure and arrival) and have access to them upon arrival in Israel.

Every Oleh must present the following original documents for processing at Misrad Hapnim (Ministry of Interior): 

Single Oleh:
Aliyah visa, passport, birth certificate with apostille (make sure that your parents’ names appear on the birth certificate) with apostille, proof of Judaism, criminal background check(s)

Divorced:
Aliyah visa, passport, birth certificate with apostille, proof of Judaism, marriage certificate(s) with apostille, divorce certificate(s) with apostilles, criminal background check(s)

Widowed:
Aliyah visa, passport, birth certificate, proof of Judaism, marriage certificate(s) with apostille, spouse’s death certificate(s) with apostille,  criminal background check(s)

Couple/Family:
Aliyah visas for every member of the family making Aliyah, passports and birth certificates with apostilles for all family members, proof of Judaism, marriage certificate with apostille, adoption papers (if applicable) with apostille, criminal background check(s)

Katin Chozer (acquired citizenship in Israel and left before the age of 14):
Israeli passport, foreign passport, birth certificate with apostille (unless it’s Israeli), marriage/divorce/death certificate(s) with apostilles

Ezrach Oleh (Israeli citizen born abroad):
Israeli passport, foreign passport, birth certificate (Israeli passport holders do not need an apostille on their birth certificate), proof of Judaism (only if the mother is not Israeli), marriage/divorce/death certificate(s) with apostilles (unless the document was issued in Israel)

Mishpachat Olim (one spouse is an Oleh, Ezrach Oleh, or Katin Chozer), and the other is a Returning Resident (Toshav Chozer):

*Please note: If you have previous Israeli status such as a Returning Resident or have previously held an A-1 visa (temporary resident), and your personal status has changed since last residing in Israel, (ex. you were single when living in Israel and are now married), you will need to present all of the necessary certificates verifying your change in status.
