Specialist Training Course
Licensing and Specialist Training Courses
Please note that obtaining Nurse Practitioner (NP) recognition may take some time. In the interm, we recommend pursuing the recognition of your specialty to enhance your earning potential during this period.
Foreign-trained NPs must meet Israeli criteria (found below) and take the Achot Mumchit course to practice in Israel. This process may take a significant amount of time, and completing a specialist training course is also recommended.
An NP who already has a specialty (see current list below – the list is subject to change) can apply for Israeli recognition of their specialist training (השתלמות על-בסיסית) from the Israeli Ministry of Health (MOH). They must submit proof of equivalent training and work experience to the ministry. For more information about this, email [email protected].
The process
- Get licensed as an RN
- Submit proof of completion of the equivalent specialty training program(recognized by the Israel Ministry of Education) and relevant work experience.
- Documents are reviewed by a special committee.
- Pending approval, the nurse will be required to complete a number of supervised clinical training hours in their field.
- Take a governmental licensing exam.
Notarized copies of documents and proof of work experience can be mailed (by registered mail) to: Nursing Division – Ministry of Health 39 Jeremiah St. Jerusalem, 9446724.
* If you have any questions, please reach out to us at [email protected] for guidance on the process.
