Specialty Recognition
Specialty recognition processes are currently experiencing delays. We are aware of the issue and actively addressing it. Despite these challenges, we encourage applicants to apply, and in the interim, consider working as general dentists.
Recognized specializations in Israel include Endodontics, Oral medicine, Oral pathology, Oral and maxillofacial surgery, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, Periodontics, and Public Health dentistry. Specialists are required to successfully complete the dental licensing exam before approaching the Dental Scientific Council for recognition in a dental subspecialty.
To initiate the recognition process, one must fill out the Request for Recognition for a Dental Subspecialty form (Hebrew only) and submit it, along with the necessary documents, to the Scientific Council at the following address:
Scientific Council
Rehov Yafo 97, Jerusalem 94340
Phone: 03-528-8054
For further details, contact Shifra Bsor from the Israel Dental Association (IDA) at [email protected]. Each specialization has specific licensing requirements, which can be found on the IDA website.
To administer moderate sedation, licensed dentists from abroad, certified to administer moderate sedation overseas and with a record of at least 10 administered sedations in the past 2 years (pre-Aliyah), can obtain certification in Israel. For documentation submission and inquiries, contact Mrs. Galit Ben Ami from the Dental Division at the Ministry of Health, by email: [email protected].
