Overview
When terror strikes, when disaster hits, ZAKA Tel Aviv’s volunteers are on the ground within minutes: search and rescue, emergency response, and the dignified recovery and identification of victims in keeping with Jewish tradition. The work never stops, and it runs on the generosity of donors who believe in it.
Those donors deserve more than a receipt. This role exists to give our mid-level and major supporters a real relationship with the organization they fund, and to grow that support into the gifts that let us answer the next call.
This is a frontline fundraising role.
You will:
~Own a portfolio of mid-level and major donors, end to end: cultivation, solicitation, closing, and stewardship
~Secure five- and six-figure gifts
~Reach out proactively by email, phone, and Zoom, and meet donors face to face when it matters
~Represent ZAKA at galas, community events, and donor meetings
~Tell ZAKA’s story with conviction and sensitivity, including in the hardest moments
~Keep meticulous donor records and follow through on every commitment
~Carry clear revenue and relationship goals, and be measured against them
Why the right person will want this:
~A mission with real urgency. You will never have to manufacture a case for support. The work speaks, and donors feel it.
~Room to build. Mid and major giving at ZAKA is growing. The person who takes this role shapes what it becomes.
Qualifications:
~A proven track record: you have carried a major gifts portfolio and personally secured five- and six-figure gifts, taking donors through every stage from first conversation to closed gift
~Fluent English; familiarity with Hebrew is a plus
~A natural relationship builder who listens more than talks
~Low ego: coachable, open to feedback
~Hungry to grow, comfortable with uncertainty, and willing to be persistent when a gift is on the line
