We are seeking an innovative Instructional Designer & Educational Technology Specialist to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of engaging online learning experiences. This role combines instructional design expertise with a forward-thinking approach to educational technology, artificial intelligence integration, and digital learning innovation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in online education and demonstrated success designing creative and authentic assessments. Candidates must be technologically agile — individuals who may not know every platform or tool currently available but who demonstrate a strong ability to quickly learn, adapt, and implement emerging technologies effectively.

This position requires creativity, initiative, strong technology skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to create academically rigorous and engaging learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Design & Learning Experience Development

  • Collaborate closely with faculty and subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate course objectives and academic content into engaging and effective online learning experiences.
  • Apply instructional design principles and modern educational technologies to develop interactive learning activities, assessments, and student engagement strategies.
  • Design technology-enhanced instructional materials that support diverse learning styles and promote student success.
  • Create and organize digital learning assets, multimedia content, instructional guides, and assessment tools within online learning environments.

Educational Technology Integration

  • Utilize learning management systems and digital learning platforms to build and maintain online and hybrid courses.
  • Integrate educational technologies, AI-assisted tools, automation platforms, and emerging digital solutions into instructional delivery and assessment methods.
  • Experiment with and implement innovative approaches to online education, including interactive technologies, adaptive learning tools, no-code/low-code solutions, and AI-enhanced learning experiences.
  • Rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies, platforms, and instructional tools as institutional needs evolve.

Assessment & Student Engagement

  • Develop technology-supported assessments, assignments, and rubrics that align with learning objectives and measure student achievement effectively.
  • Design engaging learner interactions and activities that encourage participation, collaboration, and mastery of course outcomes.
  • Ensure instructional materials and assessments are accessible, organized, and aligned with best practices in online learning.

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with faculty, academic leadership, and cross-functional teams to support the development and continuous improvement of online and hybrid programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty in the effective use of educational technologies and digital teaching strategies.
  • Assist in maintaining instructional quality standards, accreditation requirements, and institutional best practices for online education.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience developing online or technology-enhanced learning experiences.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and digital tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in online or hybrid higher education environments.
  • Experience using educational technologies, AI tools, or multimedia platforms to support teaching and learning.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles, online assessments, and learner engagement strategies.
