Position Overview
The Scientific Project is a hands-on role responsible for the end-to-end management
and development of water remediation projects, with a focus on harmful algal blooms
(HABs). This role combines scientific leadership, project development, field execution,
and stakeholder engagement.
The position includes full lifecycle responsibility for projects, from proposal
development and design, through execution, and culminating in comprehensive
reporting and scientific publications. The Scientific Project Manager will also play a key
role in establishing best practices, building scalable processes, and interfacing with
clients, government bodies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Development & Management
• Lead the full lifecycle of remediation projects, including proposal writing, project
design, execution, monitoring, and close-out
• Develop technical proposals, grant submissions, and responses to RFPs and
RFQs
• Design and implement monitoring programs before, during, and after treatment
phases
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control standards throughout
all project stages
Field Work & Data Management
• Conduct and supervise field sampling, including water collection and in-situ
measurements
• Calibrate and maintain field instruments, ensuring proper documentation and
logs
• Manage sample handling and coordination with external laboratories
• Analyze field and laboratory data using appropriate scientific and statistical
tools
Data Science
Work on processing and analyzing multi-source environmental and sensor data,
including satellites, drones, and in-situ measurements.
Reporting, Documentation & Publications
• Prepare and submit timely daily, weekly, and monthly reports, as well as post treatment summaries
• Produce comprehensive technical and analytical reports in English, integrating field and
lab data
• Lead the preparation of final project reports summarizing objectives,
methodologies, results, and outcomes
• Contribute to and author scientific publications based on project findings
Scientific Leadership & Process Development
• Develop best practices and standardized methodologies to support scalable
operations
• Build and refine monitoring and quality assurance project plans
• Drive continuous improvement in scientific and operational processes
• Provide scientific guidance on HAB treatment strategies and emerging
approaches
Stakeholder Engagement, Representation & Collaboration
• Work closely with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and academic
institutions
• Serve as a technical interface with clients and key stakeholders
• Represent the company and its projects at academic and professional
conferences
• Provide professional customer support, including technical presentations and
product demonstrations
• Support business development through scientific and technical input

Required Qualifications
• MA or equivalent advanced degree in Life Sciences: (Environmental Science,
Microbiology, Marine Biology, Geology, Environmental Chemistry or related
fields)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience (Advantage)
• Proven track record of delivering results and driving continuous improvement
• Demonstrated experience working with government entities and/or academic
institutions
• Strong field experience in aquatic ecosystems
• Demonstrated expertise in scientific data analysis and technical writing,
including reports and scientific publications
• Experience managing or supervising field projects
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Native-level English proficiency (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with harmful algal blooms (HABs) and cyanobacteria
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance frameworks
• Strong statistical analysis capabilities
Additional Requirements
• Available to travel frequently per project (2-3 times in a quarter for 10-14 days),
especially during peak HAB season
