Overview
We are looking for an experienced Grant Writer / Foundation Relations Consultant to help expand our foundation funding opportunities. The ideal candidate is a strong writer who also has existing connections with foundations, family foundations, philanthropic advisors, or institutional funders.
This role includes identifying potential funders, making strategic introductions, writing compelling proposals, and helping manage the grant process from outreach through reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Identify foundation prospects that align with our mission and programs.
• Use existing foundation relationships to help open funding opportunities.
• Write and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and applications.
• Work with leadership to gather program details, budgets, impact data, and funding needs.
• Maintain a grant calendar with deadlines, submissions, follow-ups, and reporting dates.
• Assist with grant reports, renewal requests, and stewardship communication.
• Help strengthen the organization’s foundation outreach strategy.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience writing successful grant proposals.
• Existing relationships with foundations or philanthropic contacts.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising and foundation relations.
• Excellent writing, editing, research, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate mission, impact, and urgency clearly.
• Experience with Jewish philanthropy, Israel-focused giving, medical support, humanitarian aid, or children and families in crisis is a strong plus.
