Overview
Note: Although we are a PM-first organization, this position is not a stepping stone to becoming a Product Manager. This is a sponsorship position for someone who already has proven experience in partnerships and sponsorships, and wants to own the entire cycle, from finding the right partner to building a relationship worth renewing.
We are Product League, the most trusted mentorship program for Product Managers across more than 30 countries around the globe. We are looking for an experienced Sponsorship professional to join our League and move the needle.
How do we see Sponsorship?
We believe great sponsorships are not about finding someone willing to put their logo on something. They happen when two organizations have a good reason to work together, and both them and the end users…. can clearly see the value.
Your job will be to find those organizations, understand what matters to them, show them what value Product League can bring to them, and turn that fit into a partnership that works for both sides.
This is a relationship-driven commercial position. We need someone who knows how to open doors, but, more importantly, knows what to do once the door opens.
You are not going to spend your day building endless prospect lists or sending hundreds of copy-pasted outreach messages. You will own the sponsorship cycle from top to bottom: identifying the right companies, reaching the right people, starting conversations, understanding their needs, building the offer, closing the partnership, delivering what we promised, and creating a reason to renew.
That includes, but is absolutely not limited to:
Scout: Identify companies that have a real reason to reach, support, or build relationships with experienced Product Managers. Find the right people within them and prioritize the opportunities worth pursuing.
Connect: Open conversations. This may happen through warm introductions, LinkedIn, email, our existing network, or another route you identify. The method matters less than starting the right conversations.
Sell: Understand what a potential sponsor actually needs, connect those needs with what Product League can offer, build the right sponsorship opportunity, pitch it, negotiate it, and close it.
Deliver: Own the relationship after the deal is signed. Coordinate what was promised, keep sponsors informed, make sure both sides are getting value, and solve problems when they arise.
Grow: Measure what worked, maintain the relationship, identify opportunities to expand it, and turn successful sponsorships into renewals and longer-term partnerships.
Note: You won’t be doing all of these things every week. This is a one-day-a-week role, so prioritization matters. We expect you to know which opportunity deserves your attention, move it forward, and avoid confusing activity with progress.
What value will you create for Product League?
You will create meaningful commercial relationships between Product League and companies that want to reach, support, hire, learn from, or build credibility with experienced Product professionals.
Your work should create value on both sides. Product League gains strategic partners. Our sponsors gain meaningful access to a highly relevant international Product Management community.
What does success look like?
A direct, measurable influence on sponsorship revenue and the health of our sponsorship pipeline.
In other words: finding the right opportunities, turning conversations into partnerships, and creating relationships sponsors actually want to continue.
We care about outcomes, not how many companies you added to a spreadsheet or how many messages you sent.
Why do we need you?
Product League has built relationships with Product Managers across more than 30 countries. That creates opportunities for the right companies to build meaningful relationships with this audience, but those opportunities don’t turn into partnerships by themselves.
We need someone who can identify where the commercial fit exists, open the conversation, and own what happens next.
What does the work look like?
This is a part-time position: one day a week. You can manage your schedule as you wish, as long as you:
Deliver on time.
Maintain consistent communication and keep us updated.
Attend weekly syncs.
Stay responsive when an active sponsorship conversation requires it.
This job is for you if…
You are commercially minded without treating every relationship like a transaction. You know how to listen before pitching, and you understand that the best deal isn’t necessarily the biggest one; it’s one that makes enough sense for both sides that they want to do it again.
You can look at a company and figure out why Product League might matter to them, who you need to speak with, what might get that person’s attention, and how to turn an initial conversation into something concrete.
Your superpowers span relationship-building, commercial thinking, prospecting, pitching, negotiation, execution, and follow-through.
This job is NOT for you if…
You need a lot of hand-holding on the one hand (pun intended), or act more like a know-it-all AI than a humble human on the other.
It’s also not for you if your idea of business development is sending 50 generic messages and hoping somebody replies.
And it’s definitely not for you if you love winning the deal but lose interest once the agreement is signed. Closing is only halfway through the job.
What will your first month on the job look like?
You will spend your first week learning the fundamentals of our business, understanding our audience, what Product League can genuinely offer sponsors, and what makes a company a strong potential partner for us.
You will then start building and qualifying the sponsorship pipeline and opening the first conversations.
Before the end of your first month, we’ll want to see evidence that you have moved us forward: a promising conversation we weren’t having before, an opportunity we had overlooked, a sharper sponsorship proposition, or a potential partner that is meaningfully progressing through the pipeline.
Requirements
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in sponsorships, partnerships, business development, or a similar commercial role.
You need demonstrated experience owning commercial relationships, not only generating leads for somebody else to close.
High proficiency in English. You are not required to never make a spelling mistake, but you are going to spend your entire time working in English. We repeat: English only.
