Overview
Job Description:
We are looking for a VP Business Development & Sales to serve as the company’s senior commercial leader, responsible for opening strategic doors, building a focused partnership pipeline, and converting market interest into tangible commercial outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role combining commercial judgment, execution discipline, and close cross-functional alignment.
You will work in close partnership with the CEO as her commercial right hand and as a key member of the leadership team. The role actively supports CEO-led fundraising efforts by providing credible commercial traction, structured pipeline data, and market insights, and by participating in selected investor discussions when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy and Market Focus
Own day-to-day commercial strategy execution with primary focus on the US market. Identify priority market segments and ideal partner profiles across health-focused nutrition, functional food, medical nutrition, and supplements. Translate the platform’s scientific value proposition into clear and credible commercial positioning. Shape realistic go-to-market approaches aligned with the company’s stage and available resources.
Business Development and Partnerships
Open doors and build direct relationships with relevant industry players in the US. Leverage existing networks to engage senior decision-makers. Lead end-to-end partnership processes, from qualification and discovery through negotiation and agreement execution, in coordination with the CEO. Drive partnerships from initial engagement to signed agreements and early revenues.
Sales Pipeline Ownership
Build and manage a focused, high-quality commercial pipeline. Define clear qualification criteria and deal stages. Maintain disciplined tracking, prioritization, and forecasting. Ensure momentum toward commitments and avoid stalled or non-strategic opportunities.
Commercial Positioning, Pricing, and Materials
Own the commercial narrative in close alignment with the CTO / VP R&D. Ensure commercial materials are scientifically accurate and compliant with claims and regulatory boundaries. Lead development of sales decks, partner briefs, and commercial-facing technical summaries. Develop pricing logic and commercial terms grounded in partner value, manufacturing realities, and competitive benchmarks.
Monitor and selectively pursue relevant industry recognitions, awards, and competitive programs as strategic tools for visibility and credibility, ensuring focused participation aligned with the company’s priorities and stage.
CEO Partnership and Cross-Functional Alignment
Act as the CEO’s commercial counterpart and day-to-day partner. Work closely with the CTO / VP R&D to align commercial commitments with technology readiness and regulatory reality. Support fundraising by providing pipeline insights, commercial data, and market feedback, and by participating in selected investor discussions.
Job Requirements:

Senior commercial experience (typically 10+ years) in health & wellness, bioactive ingredients, or science-driven nutrition platforms.
Proven B2B business development and sales experience in the US market. Track record of leading complex, long-cycle commercial processes. Experience structuring pilots, phased partnerships, and early commercial agreements. Experience working with evidence-based, science-backed products or platforms.
Capabilities
Ability to open doors and engage senior decision-makers. Strong commercial judgment and prioritization skills. Ability to translate scientific value into credible commercial conversations. Structured pipeline management and execution discipline. Strong negotiation skills and commercial reasoning.

Additional Requirements
Near-native level or exceptional English, spoken and written, with confidence in US-facing C-level discussions. Willingness to travel as needed, primarily US-focused. Hands-on approach, personally leading outreach, conversations, and deal progression.
