Overview
The Head of Development will work with the CEO to considerably increase funding both in Israel and internationally – for ongoing needs and to meet the significant undertakings of a first-rate 21st century museum.
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Development will have well-honed managerial skills as well as demonstrated success in raising major gifts, building a fundraising strategy, and growing philanthropic relationships both throughout Israel and internationally.
As Head of Development, You Get To:
• Be responsible for all fundraising efforts;
• Manage existing portfolio of donors and prospects, cultivating and soliciting major donors worldwide – both among the existing donor base and by identifying new prospects;
• Significantly expand the museum’s donor base;
• Solicit major contributions for the museum’s ongoing needs, securing major gifts at the six-to-seven figure level;
• Fully support the museum’s Friends associations and Board of Trustees;
• Build and lead a fundraising team that can execute the annual fundraising plan;
• Oversee all grant applications and reports to funders and prospective funders – both in English and in Hebrew;
• Plan and lead donor visits and missions;
• Oversee the development of fundraising materials, events, campaigns and initiatives;
• Oversee all data management, as well as gift processing and acknowledgements;
• Oversee all prospect research and preparations of materials for cultivation and solicitation visits and trips abroad;
• Support the CEO in all his development efforts.
This Job Is For You If:
• Have previously managed a development department;
• Have demonstrated prior experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, and grant writing;
• Have previously managed a major capital campaign;
• Are personable, motivated, and a team player;
• Are an experienced writer and speaker;
• Can multi-task and prioritize, and are a quick learner;
• Are a strategic and nuanced thinker capable of creating innovative ways to effectively engage new donor audiences;
• Are detail-oriented, organized, enthusiastic, and energetic;
• Have a deep understanding of both the Jewish philanthropic landscape as well as Jewish culture and education;
• Are ethical and able to model high personal and professional standards;
• Have an academic degree;
• Are familiar with Salesforce – an advantage.
