Fogel CFO & Management Services, a fractional Finance Department firm, is looking to hire a Finance Operations & Budgeting Lead to cover the needs of our growing list of clients. OVERVIEW:

• Be our go-to expert on Israeli banks, financial institutions, and bureaucracy across a diverse client base.
• Build and own budgets, cash flows, and projections for businesses and nonprofits.
• Serve as a guide and resource to other team members (one of several, not the only lifeline).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Budgeting, Cash Flow & Projections:
• Build budgets, cash flow forecasts, and projections (often starting from imperfect client data).
• Prepare budget vs. actuals and forecast accuracy analysis, and explain the variances in plain language.
• Run scenarios (hiring plans, fundraising and grant timing, FX exposure, etc.) to support client decisions.
• Present financials to client leadership, translating numbers into decisions.

Israeli Banking & Institutions:
• Manage client relationships and communication with Israeli financial institutions (account openings, signatory changes, credit lines, guarantees, foreign currency accounts, etc.).
• Work comfortably within online platforms and payment and payroll processes.
• Navigate Israeli bureaucratic institutions, including the Tax Authority (Income Tax and VAT), Bituach Leumi, and the Registrar of Companies / Amutot.
• Coordinate with clients’ external accountants and auditors on reporting and year-end.

Team Support & Mentorship:
• Be an available resource to team members on banking, budgeting, and Israeli process questions.
• Review team work products before they reach clients.
• Help document processes so know-how lives in our systems (not just in someone’s head).

Leadership Support:
• Take over and assist on higher-level projects and deliverables.
• Personally manage a portfolio of clients from start to finish.

Job requirements

• This position is NOT a back-office position. This person will need to communicate and work well with others and work under deadlines.
• 7+ years of hands-on finance experience in Israel preferred (e.g., controller, finance manager, FP&A, or finance-team lead). Strong candidates with 5+ years will be considered.
• Proven, independent experience building budgets, cash flows, and projections.
• Deep familiarity with Israeli banks and their systems, and regulatory processes.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
• Experience with Israeli bookkeeping software (e.g., Hashavshevet, Priority, Rivhit) – Strong Advantage
• Experience guiding or mentoring others – Strong Advantage
• Experience with nonprofits (amutot) and/or startups – Advantage
• Mother-tongue level of written/spoken English; high level of written/spoken Hebrew.
• Organized, shows initiative, works independently, and sees projects through to completion (across multiple clients at once).
