Overview

Bruner International School is seeking a passionate and reflective educator to teach English Language Arts and Social Studies in our bilingual elementary program. The teacher will support students’ academic growth while nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, identity development, and a deep sense of belonging within a global and values-based learning community.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning:

Plan and deliver high-quality English Language Arts instruction, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening

Teach Social Studies through inquiry-based, interdisciplinary learning experiences

Foster critical thinking, research skills, and global citizenship

Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

Use formative and summative assessment to guide instruction and monitor student progress

Student Development:

Support students’ social-emotional growth and positive identity development

Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

Encourage student voice, collaboration, and independent thinking

Collaboration:

Work closely with grade-level teams and specialist teachers

Participate in student support meetings and school initiatives

Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and well-being

School Community Role:

Contribute to school-wide programs, events, and values-based initiatives

Integrate Bruner’s educational philosophy into daily teaching practice

Engage in ongoing professional reflection and development

 

Qualifications:

Degree in Education, English, Social Studies, or related field

Teaching certification (preferred)

Experience teaching elementary students

Strong literacy instruction skills

Commitment to collaborative, student-centered learning
