Bnot Sherut Engagement Coordinator

 

Position Summary

The Bnot Sherut Engagement Coordinator plays a central role in creating a vibrant, supportive, and well-organized experience in the Lone Bnot Sherut residence based in Jerusalem throughout their service year. This position is responsible for fostering a warm and inclusive residential community, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the residence, planning and executing engaging programs and events, and providing ongoing support to Resident Advisors (RAs).

 

Key Responsibilities

Community Building & Resident Engagement

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all resident programming, including social, educational, wellness, holiday, and community-building events.
  • Facilitate orientation for new bnot sherut residents and develop initiatives that encourage meaningful relationships and community engagement throughout the year.
  • Maintain a consistent and visible presence in the residence by participating in formal and informal gatherings, including select Shabbatot and evening programs.

Resident Advisor (RA) Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and support the Resident Advisor (RA) team.
  • Conduct regular meetings, training sessions, and performance check-ins with RAs.
  • Partner with RAs to strengthen resident engagement, identify community needs, and implement programming.
  • Provide guidance and support to RAs in responding to resident concerns and community challenges.

Events & Programming

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual programming calendar in collaboration with the Bnot Sherut Director.
  • Manage all aspects of event planning and execution.
  • Coordinate event communications and marketing efforts to maximize participation and engagement.
  • Coordinate and oversee non-resident events such as Shabbatonim and other events outside the residence.

Residence Operations & Administration

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residence to ensure a safe and well-maintained living environment.
  • Collaborate with the Director on scheduling, budgeting, operational planning, and administrative tasks.
  • Address disciplinary matters and resident concerns in a professional, respectful, and solutions-oriented manner.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in event planning, community engagement, or residential life preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, preferably managing student leaders or peer staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings,  and select Shabbat programming as needed.
  • Proficient in both Hebrew and English
