Overview
The Role
We are looking for a certified, compassionate Optometrist to provide professional vision care to our beneficiaries. You will be the clinical heart of our operation, performing eye exams and ensuring that individuals from vulnerable populations receive the correct prescriptions to improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests for beneficiaries (adults, elderly, and children).
Determine accurate prescriptions for eyeglasses.
Screen for basic ocular health issues and provide referrals to ophthalmologists when necessary.
Work closely with the NGO Manager to coordinate lens orders and frame fittings.
Provide professional advice to beneficiaries regarding vision health and frame suitability.
Qualifications:
Certified Optometrist with a valid license from the Israeli Ministry of Health.
Strong clinical skills and experience with manual and digital refraction tools.
Patient and empathetic approach, especially with elderly patients and those with limited English/Hebrew.
Languages: Hebrew proficiency (English or Russian is a significant advantage).
