Overview
Description:
A Packaging Assistant is one who provides essential support to the Packaging Lead and Operators to ensure the brewery’s canning and kegging lines run without interruption. This is an entry-level, high-energy role focused on manual labor, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Line Support:
Building boxes, manually feeding filled cans into boxes, labelling boxes, and stacking finished cases onto pallets.
Keg Management:
Assist with keg cleaning and staging, including scrubbing keg shells, checking gaskets, and organizing empty inventory for the wash cycle.
Kegging Machine Operation:
Operate automated keg washer/filler to clean, sanitize, and fill kegs while ensuring accurate fill volumes and pressure.
General Sanitation:
Maintain a spotless production floor by managing wet-waste, breaking down cardboard, and performing basic foaming/scrubbing of equipment.
Product Quality:
Conduct visual inspections for dented cans or smeared labels and alert operators to any inconsistencies in the finished product.
Warehouse Assistance:
Help organize the cold room and assist in loading/unloading delivery trucks using a pallet jack or forklift (if certified).
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long shifts (8–12 hours) and lift up to 25kg frequently, with the ability to maneuver full kegs (approx. 25kg).
Attention to Detail:
Precision in monitoring gauges and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety and quality.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work varied shifts, including early mornings or evenings, depending on the production schedule.
Safety Mindset:
Strict adherence to PPE requirements and chemical safety protocols.
Basic Communication Skills:
Ability to read, write, and communicate with team members in Hebrew or English.
