Overview

The Mission:
We are managing a complex, document-heavy investigation into a historical corporate acquisition. We have the evidence; now we need a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to manage the “Fact Matrix.” You will be the engine room of the investigation, ensuring every document is indexed, every claim is cited, and the case file is trial-ready.

Core Responsibilities:
– Evidentiary Mapping: Maintain the master “Fact Chronology.” You will take the team’s investigative findings and link them directly to specific documents (emails, bank statements, minutes).
– Drafting & Proofing: Assist in drafting the Statement of Facts. Your role is to ensure the narrative is technically accurate, free of errors, and follows strict US legal formatting and citation standards.
– Exhibit Management: Own the evidence library. You will be responsible for the logical organization, bates-stamping, and “bundling” of exhibits for potential submission to legal authorities and the press.
– Case File Audit: Conduct “spot checks” on the case narrative to ensure that no factual assertion is left unsubstantiated. You find the gaps before the opposition does.

The Ideal Profile:
– The US Standard: You have experience in a US law firm or as a senior litigation assistant. You are a native-level English speaker with an obsession for “The Bluebook” (or general US legal formatting) and professional rhetoric.
– Relativity Expert: You are highly proficient in Relativity One (tagging, folders, searching, and hyperlinking).
– Meticulous Organizer: You are the type of person who notices a missing comma or a broken link in a 100-page document. You enjoy creating order out of data chaos.
– Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of corporate documents (SBA loans, closing binders, and financial reports) is a plus.

Engagement and Compensation:
This is a freelance, project-based engagement. You must be able to send professional invoices. Compensation is highly competitive and will be discussed based on the level of expertise you bring to the table. NDA Required.
