The Studio of Her Own Professional Development Program
Are you a new oleh (within 10 years), a professional artist with at least 2 years’ experience in your home country, and fluent in English?
Studio of Her Own, together with Nefesh B’Nefesh, is offering a professional development program to help new olim enter and integrate into the Israeli art world.
The program will include meetings in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, as well as on Zoom.
Who are we? Studio of Her Own is an active art center located in the heart of Jerusalem. Housed in a historic building, the Studio includes three exhibition spaces, an active art studio, a workshop for public programming for adults and children, a cafe, and a shop which sells the work of local artists and artisans.
Studio of Her Own has been operating since 2011 as a professional hub for women artists from across the country. The Studio collaborates with institutions and organizations in the fields of art and education. In addition to its ongoing activities, the Studio offers professional development workshops for artists, for Israeli-born women and immigrants from all sectors, including secular, ultra-Orthodox, Ethiopian, Druze, Bedouin, and East Jerusalem.
What is the SoHO PD program? The Studio of Her Own Professional Development Program was designed for professional Olim artists in their first ten years in Israel to provide a better understanding of the Israeli art world and easier access to their chosen field of work. The course will meet monthly, in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and on Zoom.
The program has been created as a collaboration with Nefesh Be’Nefesh organization to help men and women artists integrate professionally into the Israeli art world.
The course will include all necessary aspects of professional development:

Financial aspects of Business management

Preparation of professional materials in Hebrew: CV, portfolio, artist’s statement

Introduction to available grants and prizes In Israel
The course will conclude with a curated group show at a location to be determined.
Who is Eligible? The requirements to participate are:

Ole Hadash (up to ten years)

Two years of experience as a professional artist in your home country.

Attendance at all meetings and art tours.

Fluency in English
