The Impact of American Olim on Israeli Jewish Life

How has American aliyah reshaped Israeli Jewish life?

Join us for a thoughtful and timely panel discussion exploring the cultural, religious, and communal impact of American olim on Israeli society. Drawing on the insights of Prof. Adam Ferziger’s new book, Agents of Change: American Jews and the Transformation of Israeli Judaism (NYU Press, 2025), leading scholars and public figures will examine how American Jewish ideas, institutions, and leadership have influenced Israeli Judaism—and how these influences continue to shape Israel today.

The evening will feature opening remarks and responses by Prof. Ferziger, with expert panelists from the worlds of Jewish scholarship, education, law, and diplomacy. The discussion will be moderated by Rav Shai Finkelstein and will include time for audience engagement.
