Marathon Mom

For this screening of Marathon Mom, Michal Herzog, wife of President Herzog, will deliver opening remarks.  The documentary is in English with Hebrew subtitles. Beatie Deutsch, an Orthodox Jewish American Israeli and mother of five, aspires to become an Olympic athlete. Shattering stereotypes, she is a world-class athlete, and she is proud to share her beliefs and her source of inspiration with people of all backgrounds and religions. The film follows her coping with obstacles, injuries and psychological challenges. With the COVID-19 pandemic preventing her from competing for a place at the Tokyo Olympics, her career is derailed. Will her determination to make it to the Olympics diminish her enthusiasm for and love of running?
