Jerusalem Beyond The Walls
A Day of History, Culture & Discovery
Discover a fascinating side of Jerusalem on a full-day guided journey through the historic compounds and cultural landmarks that helped shape the city beyond the Old City walls.
After a breakfast break at Shoresh, we begin our exploration of Jerusalem with our guide, Ayala. We’ll discover the Russian Compound and Notre Dame, continue through the French Compound, and explore the Church of the Holy Trinity, the historic hospital and Sergei’s Courtyard.
Our journey continues to the distinctive Ethiopian and Italian Compounds, each revealing another layer of Jerusalem’s diverse history, architecture and communities.
We’ll then enjoy free time for lunch at the colourful and bustling Mahane Yehuda Market, before finishing the day with a guided English tour of the National Library of Israel, an impressive home to the stories, treasures and cultural heritage of Israel and the Jewish people.
A fascinating day combining Jerusalem’s history, hidden corners and one of Israel’s most important cultural institutions.
