Exploring Ancient Wonders & Hidden Caves Date
UNESCO World Heritage Site Beit Guvrin & Gallery Extraordinaire
Prepare to step back in time on a fascinating journey to Beit Guvrin-Maresha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with thousands of years of history and an extraordinary underground world.
After a picnic breakfast, we’ll begin a specially tailored tour through this remarkable archaeological site, exploring the ancient cities of Maresha and Beit Guvrin. Discover an intricate network of underground dwellings, storage cellars, olive presses and columbaria, alongside the magnificent cathedral-like Bell Caves and a remarkably preserved Roman amphitheater.
Spanning civilizations from the Iron Age through the Byzantine era, the park offers a fascinating glimpse into the people who once lived, worked and prospered here. Its unique combination of natural formations and ingenious man-made spaces makes Beit Guvrin-Maresha one of Israel’s most impressive archaeological treasures.
Following our morning exploration and a picnic lunch, we’ll exchange ancient history for a sea of color with a visit to the extraordinary Kakadu Art Gallery & Studio in Moshav Tzafririm.
Set against the beautiful landscape of the Elah Valley, Kakadu is a vibrant celebration of Israeli creativity, showcasing thousands of distinctive handcrafted and brilliantly lacquered wooden creations, from colorful home accessories and Judaica to striking statement furniture.
As part of this special visit, enjoy an exclusive opportunity to meet the artists and owners, Aharon and Reut Shachar, in person. Hear the story behind Kakadu and discover firsthand the inspiration and creative process behind their remarkable work.
Don’t miss this incredible day out, guided by our amazing tour guide Alan Harkavy.
