A new tour I’ve been building for a while — and it’s finally happening this Friday.
The Image of a City: Maps, Prints, and the Idea of Jerusalem.
Five centuries of people making images of a place they longed for, fought over, or tried to build. Maps drawn in Amsterdam by people who never came here. Hebrew letters designed in Bergen-Belsen. A sculpture garden built in 1965 for a Jerusalem that was still divided.
We end on the hilltop overlooking the city. It lands.
