In recognition of your service in the IDF, during the first year after your release, the Department and Foundation for Released Soldiers, will provide financial assistance for housings costs of up to 12,000 NIS (up to 1,000 NIS per month for up to 12 consecutive months after your release).

After being in the army’s highly structured environment, being on your own can be overwhelming, and many people feel like they are making Aliyah all over again. You’ll find that many Israelis deal with the post-army transition by traveling overseas, frequently to South America or the Far East. As Olim, you may find that it’s not appropriate to take the same route; if you’re on your own in Israel, you may have a different set of financial responsibilities than your Israeli peers.
