Nefesh B’Nefesh Appoints Janine Strauss
as Director of Global Affairs
(JERUSALEM; 11 OCTOBER 2010) – Nefesh B’Nefesh today announced the appointment of former CEO of the Israel Tennis Center Adv. Janine Strauss to the position of Director of Global Affairs. As part of her role at Nefesh B’Nefesh, Strauss will be working closely with friends and supporters of the organization around the world to expand and enhance its capacity to bring Olim from North America and the UK.
Janine Strauss, who made Aliyah from South Africa in 1972, comes to the organization after serving on the International Board of Directors of the Israel Tennis Center, and holding the position of Chief Executive Officer for the past 10 years. In her role at the Israel Tennis Center, Strauss was responsible for promoting tennis and education in Israel by working with Israeli children from all walks of life, teaching them values of cooperation, self reliance and excellence through the medium of sport.
Strauss, who studied law at the Tel Aviv University, after obtaining a BA in Political Science and English Literature from the University of Natal in Durban, South Africa, has practiced law in New York and Tel Aviv. She is also a past Israel Women's Tennis Champion and has represented Israel internationally as a member of the Fed Cup Team.

Janine is married to Dr. Simon Strauss and is the mother of a daughter and son. She resides in Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel.
