Nefesh B’Nefesh significantly expands operations
and programming across North America
(JERUSALEM; 28 October 2008) – Nefesh B'Nefesh is expanding its Aliyah operations and programming across the USA and Canada following the historic agreement reached with the Jewish Agency last month. Through this new “Collaborative Venture”, Nefesh B’Nefesh will have primary operational responsibility for marketing and promotion of North American Aliyah, whereas the Jewish Agency will continue its exclusive responsibility for the Aliyah eligibility process with the appropriate authorities in Israel.
As part of its enhanced promotional activities, Nefesh B’Nefesh is implementing a new comprehensive overseas programming calendar including seminars, workshops, personal meetings, webinars and more. The number of these Aliyah workshops and one-on-one meetings scheduled throughout North America will be significantly increased from last year, in order to better service Aliyah minded people and to fulfill the needs of potential Olim across North America. In November, for example, Nefesh B’Nefesh’s Aliyah specialists will be conducting 24 Aliyah workshops and 28 one-on-one meetings, as compared to 9 workshops and 15 one-on-one meetings last November.
The number of locations included in the upgraded programming schedule will almost double, with 25 communities nation-wide being visited in November, as opposed to 13 at the same time last year.
Nefesh B’Nefesh is also revamping its seminars and workshops, adding more multimedia and inspirational aspects to the program. Expert seminars tailored to specific groups of potential Olim will be incorporated in the programs, in order to ensure that participants get the most relevant information for them. The expert seminars will focus on topics such as – retirement in Israel, financial planning and taxes, schooling, communities, children making Aliyah and more.
As part of this initiative, Nefesh B’Nefesh has introduced a new online calendar which will include all of the organizations’ events – in Israel and abroad. The interactive calendar streamlines the registration and scheduling process for the various Aliyah workshops and enables users to submit information prior to their meetings in order to guarantee a more productive and qualitative meeting http://www.nbn.org.il/nbncal/main .
In addition to the workshops and meetings more online seminars, known as 'Webinars’, will be available for those who are unable to attend the Aliyah workshops. Through Nefesh B'Nefesh’s sophisticated network of pre- and post- Aliyah services, 98% of their Olim have remained in Israel and 94% of the families have one or both spouses employed.
