Natasha Stern, a lone soldier who made Aliyah two years ago with Nefesh B'Nefesh, received the Presidential Award of Excellence

Corporal Natasha Stern, 21, made Aliyah from Toronto in August 2006 with the help of Nefesh B'Nefesh. She was chosen to accept the prestigious Presidential Award of Excellence for her service as a Non Commission Officer (NCO) in the Education Corps working with Olim who enlist in the army.
The award was presented to Natasha by President Shimon Peres at a ceremony in the President’s house in the presence of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Minister of Defense, Ehud Barak, and the Chief of the General Staff of the IDF, Gabi Ashkenazi.
The Presidential Award of Excellence is given to 120 soldiers and commanders who are chosen from all the different IDF units for excellence throughout their army service.
“We are very proud of Natasha for receiving this prestigious award but we are even more proud of her decision to move to Israel and live her life here. There is no question that Aliyah is the best thing that happened to this country in its 60 years of existence” said Ambassador Danny Ayalon, Co-Chairman of Nefesh B'Nefesh.
