Doctors on aliyah Arutz Sheva: Shahar Ezran for NBN

Ten North American doctors arrived in Israel on Monday to live, despite the doctors’ strike. “I believe a Jew’s place is in Israel,” said Dr. Ilana Motz, a radiologist from New Jersey.

“I am leaving a good practice in the United States, but Israel is the home of the Jewish people,” she added before boarding the aliyah flight in New York on Monday.

The other doctors include one who is a specialist in emergency treatment, two children’s doctors, a psychiatrist and five dentists.

Nefesh B’Nefesh, the origination that has sponsored aliyah flights since 2002, said that most of the doctors have work waiting for them in Israel. More than 300 doctors have moved to Israel through Nefesh B’Nefesh since its inception in 2002.

Dr. Daniel Fox, a children’s doctor from Ohio, said he is a bit worried about the doctors’ strike, but declared, “Nothing will stop us now” from moving to Israel.
