llene Rosenblum, daughter of Jack and Joan Rosenblum, became one of an estimated expected 3,000 people to make aliyah this summer when she arrived in Israel July 6. She traveled on a plane chartered by Nefesh B'Nefesh, an organization that facilitates aliyah for North American and British Jews. Rosenblum, a freelance writer, is a former producer for Washingtonpost.com and former media fellow for The Israel Project. She earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago and completed a year-long course of study at Nishmat, an institute of advanced studies for women in Jerusalem. Jack and Joan Rosenblum are congregants of Temple Israel and Ohav Shalom Synagogue, both in Albany.
