Newscaster: A flight has arrived in Israel carrying new immigrants from Britain. The "Nefesh B''Nefesh" organization is bringing a total of 150 newcomers this summer from the UK. Before the flight from Heathrow Airport, our London correspondent, Jerry Lewis spoke to members of the Sweetland family, who are joining their daughter who already lives in Israel and is serving in the army. She came back to the UK to escort her parents and their 2 canines. Our correspondent asked the mother why she and her husband are making Aliyah .
Sweetland family: My husband is retiring, so we''ve always dreamed of coming to Israel for our retirement. So we''re going to Israel, and also Sophi''s in the army, and she will make Aliyah at the end of the army .
Jerry Lewis: Will either of you be working at all or you plan for total retirement ?
Sweetland family: Sort of total retirement, but my husband will be doing bits and pieces .
Jerry Lewis: What''s his field ?
Sweetland family: He''s a teacher, so he''ll be probably be doing the teaching English .
Jerry Lewis: Why have you made Aliyah now, is it because of your daughter or because you really wanted to go ?
Sweetland family: We really wanted to go and because of my daughter .
Jerry Lewis: How do you think about it ?
Sweetland family : I''m really excited that my parents are gonna be there and they didn''t have to go, to adopt a family .
Jerry Lewis: How long have you been in Israel ?
Sweetland family: Over a year .
Jerry Lewis: And how long have you been in the army ?
Sweetland family: Almost a year .
Jerry Lewis: And you sir are just finishing putting the stickers on your luggage, but you''ve got 2 extra passengers, have you not ?
Sweetland family: Certainly have, 2 little furry ones .
Jerry Lewis: Can you tell us about them ?
Sweetland family: They''re 2 shepherd sheep dogs, which are 9 and 10, too old to stay without us, and they''re going to make Aliyah because they''ve got long noses but they''ve got short heads. You''re showing them off, I suppose we should change their names to the Irish version of Shaun, because they don''t look like collies anymore .
Jerry Lewis: And how has "Nefesh B''Nefesh" been able to able to help you ?
Sweetland family: Tremendously, they sorted out everything, all we''ve had to do is fill in 2 forms, and they guided us through the rest of the way. I could have been completely blind-folded and it would have all happened. Thank goodness for email, we''ve had a few electronic conversations, it''s been absolutely amazing. I think "Nefesh B''Nefesh" have been absolutely fantastic, and they''ve helped us so much that it''s encouraged us even more to go .
