gives millions for emigration

Leor Energy founder Guraa Aguiar may have been named OU & Gas Investor's Top Industry Executive of 2008, but for Israeli organization Nefesh B'Nefesh, he's already looking pretty good in 2009. Aguiar, who serves as a board member and chairman of finance for the group that brings Jews from the West to live in Israel, gave $8 million to help with emigration efforts. "There is no greater priority for the Jewish people or Israel than strengthening immigration (aliyah) from the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.," Aguiar stated. "Our goal of enabling 100,000 individuals to realize their aliyah dream seems more realistic with every passing day, in light of the 18,000 who have moved to Israel with Nefesh B'Nefesh's assistance thus far, and another 12,000 already 'in the pipeline.' My family is deeply moved to be a part of this incredible historic process." Since its creation six years ago, Nefesh B'Nefesh has shaped a new approach to aliyah by streamlining the entire process. |
