A road rally starting in London will end in Jerusalem, where two participants will make aliyah.

Twenty-five classic and contemporary cars are taking part in the 18-day London to Jerusalem Car Rally, launched Sunday morning from central London's Waterloo Place.

Driving along a 2,500-mile route, the cars will cross the English Channel to France and from there to Switzerland, Italy and Greece, from where they will be shipped by air on an El Al Cargo 747 Jumbo to Tel Aviv.

Two of the participants -- Yaniv Cohen, 26, of Manchester, and Alexander Singer, 28, of London, driving a '48 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith -- will make aliyah upon their arrival with help from the group Nefesh B'Nefesh.

The rally is sponsored by the Jewish National Fund-United Kingdom. Among the participating cars are a '23 Buick Model 54 Sports Roadster and a '54 Cadillac Eldorado convertible.
