Woman who was denied entry on Exodus make aliya after 60 years
By Itamar Sharon

Over 200 new olim from North American landed in Israel this morning as part of the Nefesh B'Nefesh program.

Among the new immigrants was 88-year-old Frances Greenberg from the US, a holocaust survivor who was a passenger on the Ma'apilim ship Exodus - the ship that in 1947 carried some 4,500 Jewish illegal emigrants trying to make it from southern France to Palestine. The British army seized the ship and sent its passengers back to Europe. Sixty years later, Greenberg is finally coming to live in Israel.

"The state of Israel could not have asked for a more exciting gift for its 60th anniversary," Nefesh B'Nefesh chairman Danny Ayalon said. "We at Nefesh B'Nefesh are proud of the privilege we have been given to help such a special woman, with such a fascinating story, close the circle and finally make aliya to Israel."
