JERUSALEM
– Canadian grandmother Berta Lovinger, 96, arrived in Israel last week from Montreal to join her family living in Petach Tikvah.
Her daughter and son-in-law, Miriam and Ithamar Pollack and their five children, made aliyah four months ago.
Berta came to Canada in 1949 from Hungary after surviving the war.
She
arrived in Israel with 190 other migrants aboard a specially chartered
El Al flight organised by Nefesh B'Nefesh, which has helped 3000 North
American and British Jews migrate to Israel during 2007.
