I have to admit, I’m feeling a bit nervous about the upcoming Nefesh b’Nefesh Blogger’s Conference. I’m going to be on a panel at the conference titled “Building Israel One Post at a Time.” I’m really happy that I’ll be on the same panel as a friend I get to see far too infrequently (My Shrapnel) and super happy I’ll finally get to meet the guy who keeps me in stitches (What War Zone) and super duper happy that I’ll get to see Treppenwitz and finally meet his wife! (Nearly 3 years we’ve been talking about getting together…!) and also (I’m running out of superlatives here) happy to get to meet the guy behind My Right Word. But I am really nervous about this whole thing. I’m thinking maybe I should try to run a quick survey on my readers so I can present some data. Heh. Yes, me, talks…where’s my data??!! Ok, so it was a thought.

I am definitely excited to hear the other panelists and to hear the talk by Zavi Apfelbaum, and to see the comedy performance. Most fun of all, I think, will be getting to meet with other bloggers and readers. If you are around and about, come, come so we can hang and chill. And let’s face it, I want as many people as possible around to lie to me and tell me that I really can make coherent sentences in a talk without hiding behind my data

P.S. Oooooooo I see that being a secular, socialist, Zionist, Labour blogger (granted one who wants to skewer her party with an olive poker at the moment for their idiocy) who wants to set up an urban kibbutz to work with the disadvantaged youth whether Jewish, Arab or foreign-worker’s kid and who has a blog devoted to promoting peace and dialog with our various Arab neighbours makes one a Right-wing Religious Fanatic, at least according to this article in Haaretz about the conference. Geez, good to know. Something new to put on my resume.
