The Lone Soldiers Program provides guidance, support, and care for all Olim Lone Soldiers. Our holistic approach will guide you throughout the process – from before your draft, throughout your service, and of course after your release. Our team consists of knowledgeable and experienced advisors with influence with the government, including an employee who sits within the IDF.

  | Anyone who makes Aliyah and serves in combat as a volunteer, has to sign on for a two year service.

Noya Govrin
Noya GovrinProgram Director
Noya was born in Israel and lives in Har Adar with her partner and three children. She holds a B.A. in Social Work from the Hebrew University, as well as a Masters in Labor Studies from Tel Aviv University. Noya has been with Nefesh B’Nefesh for the past 15 years, and has been the director of the Lone Soldiers Program since its’ onset in 2012.
Avi Ziv
Avi ZivProgram Consultant
Lt. Colonel Avi Ziv has been with the Lone Soldiers Program since its onset in 2012. Avi holds a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology, with an M.A. in both Military and Security Studies and Law. Throughout his 26 years serving in the IDF, Avi has held positions in many different fields including Commander of the Enlistment Office, Tel Hashomer.

Leo Loeffler
Leo LoefflerEnglish Team Leader & Advisor
Born and raised in Boca Raton, FL, Leo made Aliyah in 2014 with Nefesh B’Nefesh after studying Business Management at the University of Colorado. He then served in the Kfir Brigade in the Netzach Yehuda Batallion for two years.
Hila Buzaglo-Koren
Hila Buzaglo-KorenMeitav Representative
Born and raised in Israel, Hila served as an Officer in both the Intelligence and Resource Allocation units of the IDF in Meitav. With a B.A in Criminology and a Masters in Law Hila now helps Lone Soldiers draft directly into the IDF.
Dan Altman
Dan AltmanAdvisor
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Dan decided to make Aliyah after a year-long leadership and learning program in Israel. He served as a combat soldier in the Elite Egoz Unit. After his service he attained his B.A. in Political Science and Communications at Tel Aviv University.
Sarah Fliegelman
Sarah FliegelmanSarah Fliegelman: Advisor & LSP Marketing
Born and raised in Monsey, New York, Sarah made Aliyah in 2012 with Nefesh B’Nefesh and served as a Commander in the Israeli Air Force. After two years of service, she studied at IDC- Herzliya, and received a B.A. in Communications with a specialization in Marketing & Political Communications.
Timur Mamedov
Timur MamedovLone Soldier Advisor | Russian
Born in Russia, Timur made Aliyah through the Sela program in 2002. Timur completed his service in the Paratroopers brigade and then went on to study Computer Engineering. Timur also took part in starting the organization “Ach Gadol”, which helps guide Lone Soldiers throughout their service.
Anastasia Medvedovsky
Anastasia MedvedovskyLone Soldier Advisor | Russian
Born in Russia, Anastasia made Aliyah in 2009 and joined a Mechina for Olim in Tel Aviv University (TAU). She served in the Artillery Corps and went on to serve as an officer in the Human Resources department of the Medical Corps. Upon completion of her service she studied Political Science and Communications at Tel Aviv University.
Eli Grob
Eli GrobEuropean Lone Soldier Advisor
Born and raised in Strasbourg (France), Elie made Aliyah in 2000 through the Hesder program in the Yeshiva of Hekhal Elyahou. He then served as a medic in the Judea and Samaria area during operation “Defensive Shield”. After a few years of working in the pharmaceutical industry, Elie decided to devote himself to non-formal education by working with young Olim from France. Today Elie lives in Efrat with his wife and six children.
Daniel Azoulay
Daniel Azoulay Lone Soldier Advisor / Spanish
Daniel was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He made Aliyah in 2011 after finishing a BA in Communications from IDC. After completing his degree, he then went on to serve in Gadsar Tzanchanim at the age of 27 and finished a full service.
