Jgive, Israel’s leading charitable giving platform, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will have full responsibility for Jgive’s financial operations in both Israel and the United States, with a mandate to help lead the organization through its next stage of growth.
\nFounded in 2014 by the Asor Foundation, Jgive is a social fintech organization dedicated to strengthening the culture of philanthropy in Israel. Every day, significant donations, grants, and philanthropic investments flow through the platform, making finance the core of our business\u2014not merely a supporting function.
\nThis role combines full ownership of the organization’s financial management, regulatory compliance, and audit processes with genuine strategic partnership in shaping the company’s future. It offers the opportunity to create meaningful social impact while operating at fintech standards within a well-established, fast-growing organization.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:
\n1. Financial Leadership & Reporting<\/p>\n
Lead the financial management of Jgive’s two legal entities: Asor Foundation (Israel) and the U.S. Friends Organization (501(c)(3)).
\nPrepare financial reporting for management, the Board of Directors, and board committees.
\nServe as a strategic partner to the CEO in financial planning, decision-making, and execution.
\n2. Finance Team, Systems & Automation<\/p>\n
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, including payroll.
\nDrive cross-functional process improvements.
\nOversee ERP and BI systems.
\nImplement AI and automation across finance operations to improve efficiency and scalability.
\n3. Financial Operations<\/p>\n
Oversee the complete flow of funds, from donation to grant distribution.
\nManage accounting controls, bank and trust accounts in Israel and the U.S., liquidity, deposits, foreign exchange exposure, banking relationships, and payment processing costs.
\n4. Financial Planning & Growth<\/p>\n
Lead annual and multi-year budgeting, forecasting, and KPI management.
\nMonitor revenue and fee performance.
\nOwn pricing models and financial modeling within the product.
\nEvaluate the financial aspects of strategic partnerships and business opportunities.
\n5. Investment Management<\/p>\n
Oversee the investment portfolios supporting donor-advised funds.
\nWork closely with investment managers and the Investment Committee.
\nReport investment performance to donors.
\nDevelop new philanthropic giving structures, including real estate and publicly traded securities donations.
\n6. Donors & Foundations<\/p>\n
Prepare financial reports for foundations and strategic partners.
\nBuild relationships with major donors.
\nLead financial due diligence for significant grant allocations.
\n7. Audit, Compliance & Tax<\/p>\n
Manage external audits and work closely with the Audit Committee and external auditors.
\nEnsure regulatory reporting and compliance in Israel (Proper Management Certificate, Section 46) and the U.S. (IRS).
\nOversee internal controls, risk management, insurance, anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud prevention.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n Strong connection to Jgive’s mission and a genuine desire to create social impact by advancing philanthropy in Israel. CPA certification.<\/strong> <\/p>\n
\nAt least 10 years of financial leadership experience, including senior responsibility for organizations managing hundreds of millions of ILS.
\nProven experience managing finance operations in a technology-driven environment, including payment processing, digital wallet infrastructure, and financial controls.
\nExperience overseeing multi-entity financial operations and banking relationships across both Israel and the United States, with deep familiarity with the Israeli market and ongoing collaboration with the U.S. financial ecosystem.
\nStrong background in investments and capital markets, including working with investment committees and maintaining relationships within Israel’s investment and banking sectors.
\nA combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with the ability to translate organizational goals into financial strategy while thriving in a fast-paced, startup-oriented environment.
\nStrong analytical capabilities and experience with financial systems, BI tools, and executive dashboards.
\nExperience incorporating AI into finance workflows is a significant advantage.
\nExcellent written and spoken English.
\nHighly organized, detail-oriented, independent, collaborative, and capable of leading cross-functional initiatives.
\nWillingness to work during peak periods, including quarter-end, holidays, and year-end close.
\nPreferred Qualifications<\/p>\n
\nExperience in technology or fintech companies.
\nFamiliarity with the nonprofit sector and nonprofit taxation in both Israel and the United States.
\nExperience working with Jgive’s target audience, including high-net-worth individuals, family offices, their advisors, accountants, and attorneys.
\nExperience operating in highly regulated environments, including AML and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance.
