Position Summary<\/strong>
\nAmerican Friends of Meir Panim is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Associate Director of Planned Giving to lead and grow our legacy giving program. This part-time role will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors interested in legacy giving opportunities, including bequests, charitable gift annuities, beneficiary designations, and other estate-planning vehicles. The Associate Director will work closely with the development team to integrate planned giving into the organization\u2019s broader fundraising strategy and deepen long-term donor engagement. Reports To: Director of Development<\/span><\/p>\n

Part-time (10-20 hours per week), with potential to become Full-time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Planned Giving Strategy & Program Management
\n– Develop and implement a strategic plan to grow American Friends of Meir Panim\u2019s planned giving program.
\n– Create and manage a pipeline of planned giving prospects, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
\n– Design donor outreach strategies to educate supporters about legacy giving opportunities.
\n– Maintain accurate records of planned giving prospects and commitments in the donor database.
\n– Track progress toward planned giving goals and prepare regular reports for leadership.<\/p>\n

Donor Cultivation & Stewardship
\n– Build meaningful relationships with donors and prospects through phone calls, virtual meetings, written correspondence, and in-person visits when appropriate.
\n– Present planned giving opportunities tailored to donors\u2019 philanthropic goals.
\n– Steward legacy donors through personalized engagement and recognition opportunities.
\n– Collaborate with frontline fundraisers to identify major donors who may be strong planned giving prospects.<\/p>\n

Marketing & Communications
\n– Partner with the development and marketing team to create planned giving materials, including brochures, website content, newsletters, and donor stories.
\n– Help establish and promote a legacy giving society to recognize planned giving donors.
\n– Ensure messaging reflects the values and mission of American Friends of Meir Panim while effectively conveying the impact of legacy gifts.<\/p>\n

Cross-Department Collaboration
\n– Work closely with the Director of Development and senior leadership to align planned giving efforts with fundraising priorities.
\n– Coordinate with legal and financial professionals, when appropriate, to facilitate donor gift arrangements.
\n– Train development staff on planned giving basics and help incorporate legacy giving conversations into donor strategy.<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
\n– Minimum of 5+ years of fundraising experience, with direct experience in planned giving, major gifts, or related development roles.
\n– Knowledge of charitable gift planning vehicles, estate planning concepts, and donor stewardship best practices.
\n– Demonstrated success in cultivating and soliciting donors.
\n– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n– Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
\n– Experience with donor databases\/CRMs.
\n– Passion for American Friends of Meir Panim and commitment to serving vulnerable populations in Israel.<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications
\n– Experience in Jewish nonprofit fundraising.
\n– Familiarity with legacy society development and planned giving marketing strategies.
\n– CFP, CAP, or related planned giving certification is a plus.<\/p>\n
