The Ministry of Justice’s Office of the Deputy Attorney General (International Law)
\nhandles a broad range of issues in the field of international law. The Office is also at the
\nforefront of advocating for Israel in various international forums, and is responsible for
\noverseeing legal proceedings against Israel and its officials in foreign jurisdictions. In this
\ninternship position, through a combination of litigation and legal advising, you will be
\nworking at the cutting-edge of international litigation affecting Israel.<\/p>\n
Each year, the Office selects one or two foreign-trained, new immigrant lawyers to fill
\nthe position of “Oleh Intern” (\u05de\u05ea\u05de\u05d7\u05d4 \u05e2\u05d5\u05dc\u05d4). Our 12-month paid internship program is targeted
\ntowards foreign-trained Oleh lawyers seeking to satisfy their internship requirement for
\nadmission to the Israeli Bar. Our program affords Oleh Interns the unique opportunity to
\ncomplete their internship requirement while working on some of the most fascinating and
\npressing issues facing Israel in the international arena. The interns selected are provided
\nmeaningful mentorship and offered the opportunity to develop or increase expertise in
\ninternational law.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
To qualify for the position the candidate must: The following attributes are advantageous: \u2022 At least two years of experience in the practice of law; Interested candidates should submit a resume, writing sample, and recommendations (in English or Hebrew).<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Have made Aliyah not more than ten years prior to the internship start date;
\n\u2022 Have completed a degree in law; and
\n\u2022 Possess competency in English at a mother-tongue level.
\n\u2022 Received approval from the Israel Bar Association to begin the internship (see details
\nhere<\/a>).<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Ability to understand Hebrew well;<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Background in public international law; and
