The Lachish region – located in the Northern Negev, in the center of Israel – is currently undergoing great expansion and development. One of the 20 settlements in the region is Bnei Dekalim which was started in 2013. Bnei Dekalim is a 20 minute drive from the city of Kiryat Gat (45 minute drive to Be’er Sheva, 1 hour drive to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv). The character of the yishuv is “torani,” and it hosts separate boys and girls elementary schools and Bnei Akiva groups. The community is close-knit and supportive. The yishuv is planned to be home to 500 families, making it the “center” of services for the surrounding yishuvim. It already houses the “kuppat cholim,” “matnas,” and schools. Approximately 150 families are already living in their permanent – new and spacious – homes.
Residents of this city benefit from a Periphery Income Tax Break on salary earned, after having resided in the community for one year.
