As Olim, Israeli citizens by choice, and coming from democratic societies, we have an obligation to not only be a part of our newfound country’s discourse but to make our unique voices heard.
Join us for ZmanEmet, real-time discussions about the issues that affect us, for and by fellow Olim
ZmanEmet is a collaboration between NBN TLV and The Here & There Club, an award-winning social initiative to amplify the voices of Olim and Internationals in civic engagement through civil discourse
ZmanEmet provides Olim with the opportunity to engage with Israel’s latest news and burning topics, in a safe and open space with fellow Olim. Drawing on the salon gatherings of modern Europe and chugei bayit of Israeli society, ZmanEmet empowers you to find your voice on the topics that affect us as Olim, Israelis, and Jews, and make yourselves heard. We will use current events to frame the content of each session, drawing from the headlines to talk about the big issues that affect us as Olim, Israelis, and Jews.
As ZmanEmet is about civil discourse, we have participation guidelines:
– This is not a debate club, nor will any one ideology be promoted. All meetings will be led by an experienced facilitator, ensuring that all who attend can listen and be heard.
– No prior knowledge of current events is required; upon signing up, you will be given several articles to read and questions that will guide our meeting. Join our broadcast WhatsApp group to stay updated: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JF80PvSgicLK57t9C3YD4w
– Participants should refrain from speaking in generalizations and declarative statements; instead, you are strongly encouraged to start sentences with “I think…” or “I feel…,” and certainly to ask questions.
