Starting along the trails, you will learn how to properly use binoculars to focus and track movement, allowing you to spot woodland songbirds hidden in the tree canopy. As we walk, we will learn how to recognize local species and discover interesting facts about them—such as what they eat, their unique calls, and how they have adapted to thrive in an urban ecosystem.\nThe observation continues inside the wooden hides, where we can watch wetland birds up close without disturbing them. Here, you will practice identifying species like kingfishers and herons by observing their shapes, natural behaviors, and how they interact with the open water and reeds. You will leave with a better understanding of our local environment and the foundational skills to recognize the birds living right in your own neighborhood.\n\n
