SUMMARY:Tiyul: Gaza Border, Nova, and Sderot: A Guided Journey of Remembrance
DESCRIPTION:We’ll begin our journey in Sderot, a city that has suffered from rockets for 20 years, where you’ll take in a panoramic view of the region as your guide shares the history and the significance of October 7. Then, we’ll visit the Police Station Memorial, a site that stands as a tribute to extraordinary acts of bravery and resilience. We’ll also pay our respects at the monument for the Lookout Tower Girls, honouring those who were killed or kidnapped that day. Next, we’ll visit the Nova Festival site and have a moment to reflect on those who lost their lives, where their moments of joy were overshadowed by tragedy. From there, we’ll stop at the lot of burned cars. This haunting memorial site reflects the sheer brutality of the massacre and stands as a powerful visual testament to the atrocities that took place. We’ll also make a brief stop at a bomb shelter near a bus stop—a stark symbol of daily life in this region. This specific shelter became a refuge for those fleeing the attack, including Aner Shapira & Hersh Goldberg Polin, whose stories have become a testament to courage in the face of terror. Our final stops will take us to a local kibbutz that experienced the October 7 attack where a resident will share a personal perspective, providing a unique and intimate testimony. These once-thriving agricultural communities now face the monumental task of rebuilding – not guaranteed. Please note, the order of sites may differ from listed and not all are guaranteed. Our tour guide will be Yaron Hovav. Prices to follow\n\n
