DESCRIPTION:Lag BaOmer at the Ancient Gate\nA journey back in time to the gate built during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (133 CE) as part of the transformation of Jerusalem into a Roman city named “Aelia Capitolina”\nEspecially for Lag BaOmer, a sound-and-light show will be screened at the site, presenting the role of the city’s gates in the Bible, as well as a digital reconstruction of the Byzantine Madaba Map, a Roman floor game uncovered at the site, an exhibition of the gates of the Old City walls, and a unique pillar display that tells the story of the love for Jerusalem.\nThe gate was constructed during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (133 CE) as part of the transformation of Jerusalem into a Roman city named “Aelia Capitolina.”\nThe establishment of the city and Hadrian’s decrees are considered among the main causes of the Bar Kokhba revolt (132–136 CE).\nYou can reach the site via the northern ramparts facing the breathtaking views of the Old City and the new city, or by coming directly to the location.\n
